Comfortable & Time-Saving Journey
In 2026, the Vaishno Devi Yatra remains one of the most sacred and widely visited pilgrimages in India, attracting millions of devotees to the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi, nestled in the Trikuta Hills of Jammu & Kashmir. For many, this Yatra is not just a journey, but a deep expression of faith, devotion, and spiritual connection with Mata Rani.
It is believed that devotees who undertake this Yatra with pure devotion and sincerity are blessed with fulfilment of their wishes. While the journey involves a 13 km uphill trek from Katra to the Bhawan, the experience is filled with spiritual energy, chants of “Jai Mata Di,” and a sense of divine peace.
Over the years, especially by 2026, the Yatra has become more accessible with improved facilities and services. Pilgrims can choose between the traditional walking route or modern options like helicopter services, making the journey easier without compromising its spiritual essence. Regardless of the mode of travel, the moment of reaching the Bhawan remains deeply emotional and unforgettable.
According to data from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, over 91 lakh pilgrims visited the shrine in 2023, and the number has remained consistently high through 2024 and 2025. This trend continues in 2026, making Vaishno Devi one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in the world.
One of the major reasons behind this growth is improved infrastructure and the availability of helicopter services between Katra and Sanjichhat. These services have made the Yatra more convenient for elderly devotees, families with children, and those who may find the trek physically challenging.
The journey offers breathtaking views of the Trikuta Hills along with a powerful spiritual atmosphere. Whether one walks the entire path or opts for a helicopter ride, the Yatra continues to be a deeply fulfilling and life-changing experience. With the rising demand for helicopter travel, knowing ticket prices and booking in advance has become an important part of planning a smooth Yatra in 2026.
